Quick answers to the questions new players ask most about Is Dead. For anything else, open a ticket in Discord.
Is Is Dead a PvE or PvP DayZ server?
Mostly PvE. Livonia is fully PvE with no PvP at all. Chernarus and Sakhal play like PvE outside their rotating PvP zones, where other players are fair game. Base raids are PvP events inside the Open Fire Zone.
What mods does Is Dead run?
Expansion AI, BaseBuildingPlus and RaG Base Building, ZM Workbench, Drugs Plus and Cannabis Plus, Red Falcon Flight Systems, Morty's Weapons, Buca Weapons, The Dark Horde, KCK Mutant Monsters, AJs Creatures, and RUSForma Vehicles. Livonia runs Fortune Vehicles instead of RUSForma, plus Inedia Pain, Inedia Infected, and bunker base building. Sakhal also runs Inedia Pain and Inedia Infected, and sticks to vanilla vehicles. On top of that we run custom T5+ zones, quests, and our own systems.
How do I get help?
Open a ticket in the support tickets channel on Discord. Please don't DM staff or ask for admins in global chat. The one exception is Patreon or PayPal questions, which go to ZebskiGaming.
Why did I get kicked when I joined?
Most likely your name. Your in-game name must match your Discord nickname and use at least 3 English characters. The default name "Survivor" is kicked automatically.
Which server should I start on?
Chernarus if you want a bit of everything, Livonia if you want no PvP and a slower pace, and Sakhal if you want a real challenge. See the servers page to compare.
Can I buy weapons from traders?
Not the good ones. Most traders are buyers, not sellers. Weapons, armor, and high-end gear come from AI, quests, exploration, crafting, and the player-run P2P market.
When is the next wipe?
Every 3 to 4 months, usually near the start of a season. DayZ patches can move it. Wipe dates are announced in Discord, and raiding is off for two weeks after each wipe.
When can my base be raided?
Only when your flag is lowered to 0% and removed from the pole. Keep your flag raised and your base is safe. Stashes without an active flag are always raidable.
Can I have more than one base?
Each group gets one main base. Groups that reach Level 5 in the Group Upgrade system can also place one outpost: a 1x1 footprint, up to two floors, used for storage or staging.
My quest bugged out. Can staff fix it?
No. Staff can't restart, advance, complete, or restore quests, or compensate for bugged outcomes. Try cancelling the quest in the Quest HUD (press O), moving away from the NPC, and accepting it again.
I lost my vehicle or gear to lag. Will it be replaced?
Only for confirmed server crashes, and you'll need video proof. Over-revving, player error, reckless driving, and no-fly zone losses aren't replaced, and repeated claims may not qualify.
Can I join the staff team?
Applications are closed right now because every position is filled. When they reopen, you'll need two weeks (336 hours) of playtime, no more than one active strike, and good standing in the community.
