How to change your DayZ name from Survivor

Every Is Dead server kicks the default name "Survivor" automatically. DayZ gives everyone that name until you set your own, so it catches a lot of new players. The fix takes a minute, and you only do it once. Your name needs at least 3 English characters.

DZSA Launcher

1. Click settings in the top right corner of the launcher.
2. Type your name in Ingame Name, replacing "Survivor".
3. Close settings with the arrow at the top left of the panel, then join the server as usual. DZSA uses this name for every server you join through it.

DayZ launcher

1. Open Parameters in the menu on the left.
2. Tick Profile name and type your name in the box next to it. If it isn't under Favorites, it's under All Parameters.
3. Press Play. The launcher remembers your name for next time.

Still getting kicked?

• Check the name you actually joined with. If you use both launchers, set the name in both. Each one keeps its own.
• Use at least 3 English letters or numbers. Names made only of symbols or other alphabets don't count.
• Still stuck? Open a ticket in the support tickets channel on Discord and tell us the name you're using.

Tip: match your Discord nickname

It isn't required, but using the same name in game and on our Discord helps staff find you when you open a ticket.
